Prevention of dental disease is our goal. With regular hygiene appointments, we can diagnose and treat dental issues before they become painful and more involved.

Dental cleanings, x-rays, examinations, and oral cancer screenings are part of preventative care. This includes an examination for periodontal disease (or gum disease/ bone loss) which is the most common cause of tooth loss.

The earlier an issue is diagnosed and treatment planned, the less expensive it is to treat. The longer treatment is delayed, the more likely the cost of treatment will increase as the complexity of the treatment is increased.

Preventative

This can range from a simple filling for a small cavity to replacing a missing tooth with an implant restoration, crown, bridge, partial or denture. We provide each of those services and will be happy to provide you options for your dental care.

Restorative

Smiles can be enhanced in a number of ways, and we have multiple options to help you achieve your desired result. We offer whitening, in-office and take home. Our Colgate Professional whitening helps achieve a brighter smile with little, to no sensitivity.

Other enhancement options are crowns and veneers, which would allow us to alter the shape and color of the teeth while also protecting teeth with large fillings or cavities.

Cosmetic

Invisalign aligners can help straighten teeth that are misaligned, spaced out, or crowded. As an Invisalign dentist, we can also use Invisalign to help correct issues with your bite before doing cosmetic treatment such as veneers or crowns to prevent them from breaking due to an occlusion issue. Invisalign treatment is an easy way to straighten misaligned teeth and can help you keep your mouth cleaner and reduce gingivitis and gum disease.

Looking to feel and look refreshed? Dr. Johnson trained with the Academy of Facial Esthetics to be able to provide this treatment option for patients. There are multiple neuromodulators on the market to help you reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Botox can also be used to treat issues with TMJ disorders, clenching, grinding, and migraines.

Botox

Dermal filler can be used to restore volume loss in the face and lips. Dr. Johnson trained with the Academy of Facial Esthetics to be able to precisely place filler to give you a subtle volume increase without looking “overfilled”.

Filler

When a cavity gets deep, it can cause the nerve of the tooth to die and can lead to an infection and toothache. A root canal is performed to remove the nerve and infected tissue from the tooth. The area is disinfected and then sealed off to prevent further infection. This provides pain relief and rids the body of infection. Most of the time, a crown will be needed after the root canal to protect the tooth from breaking.

Root Canals

Our goal is to save teeth, but sometimes due to the size of the cavity or the loss of bone the only option we have is to take the tooth out. Your comfort is our top priority and Dr. Johnson will ensure that you are completely numb before the procedure is started.

YOUR COMFORT IS OUR PRIORITY
Some patients are anxious at the dentist, and we understand. We offer nitrous oxide to patients to help with anxiety and make them feel more relaxed while they are in our office.

FAQs

How often should I visit the dentist?

Most patients should be seen 2x a year for dental cleaning and x-rays; however, if you have gum disease we like to see you 3-4x a year in order to help you keep the bacteria that causes bone loss from becoming too prevalent. Periodontal disease is not reversible, but it is manageable with proper dental care.

Do you take my insurance?

We are in- network providers with several of the major providers. Even if we are not “in-network”, we will still file your insurance to help you maximize your benefit.

Do you offer payment plans?

We offer multiple options to help you achieve your dental goals. Our insurance coordinator will help you find an option that works for you and your unique situation.

Why does my insurance not pay for my entire treatment?

Dental insurance should be considered more like a “coupon”. It offers you a reduced price for your treatment (amount specified by your plan or employer). If we are “in-network” with your insurance, you receive the discounted rate on all your treatment and are only responsible for your percentage as specified by your specific plan.

If we are “out-of-network”, we will still file your insurance for you so you can use the benefit they provide. You will be responsible for the cost difference between our fees and what your insurance pays.

What age should kids start seeing the dentist?

We accept patients of all ages. We recommend that you bring your baby to the dentist when he/she gets their 1st tooth or when they turn 1 year old; whichever comes first.

How should I take care of my teeth at home?

Brushing 2x a day for 2 minutes at a time. We also recommend flossing once a day. A toothpaste containing fluoride will help keep your enamel strong, and adding a mouth rinse and tongue scraper will give you a “total-mouth clean”.

What are your business hours?

We are open Monday through Thursday 8am - 5pm for regularly scheduled patients. Please call us at 251-275-3822 if you have an emergency and we will do our best to work you in for same-day evaluation.
